Content can be stored on a server that is external to our network (i.e., customer origin server)
CDN Storage
Our CDN storage solution is an integrated part of our CDN network. This translates into the following advantages:
Customer Origin Server
The main advantage of a customer origin server is that you do not have to transfer data to another server. All of your data can remain as it is currently structured. This can save you the amount of time it takes to upload and maintain that data on a separate server. Additionally, you can configure the cache instructions that will be assigned to your assets on your web server without having to purchase Rules Engine.

Azure Block Blob
Leverage our built-in support for Azure block blob to host and serve content from a container. You may choose to create a container or point your customer origin group to an existing one.

Customer Origin
Yes. POST requests are proxied through our network and will not be cached.
The maximum amount of data that can be uploaded via a POST request is 6 Megabytes. Exceeding this limit will generate a 413 Request Entity Too Large response.
Content larger than 6 Megabytes may be uploaded via SFTP or rsync.
CDN Storage
Our CDN service does not impose a limit on the amount of data that may be stored on a customer origin server.
No. However, a monthly fee based on disk space usage on our CDN storage solution will be assessed to your account. For more information, please contact your CDN account manager.
No. Use SFTP to efficiently transfer data to CDN storage without compromising security.
The SFTP protocol may only be used if the rsync feature has been enabled on your account. For more information, please contact your CDN account manager.
Yes. The prerequisites for SFTP and rsync data transfers are:
User Instructions
A user may check whether the RSYNC privilege has been enabled on their user account.
Administrator Instructions
A MCC administrator can check whether the rsync feature has been activated on your customer account when setting a user's privileges. This feature has been enabled if the RSYNC privilege appears under Storage.
By default, CDN storage is not backed up. Our CDN storage solution is very fault-tolerant. This means that your data will remain intact and available even if our hardware experiences multiple failures. However, if your business needs require data backups, then please contact your CDN account manager to learn more and for pricing information.
