Securing Content Via Country Filtering (Geoblocking)

The Country Filtering feature uses the requester's geolocationRefers to the geographical location of the requester. For example, if a user requests content from Paris, then that user's geolocation is typically France (i.e., FR). to determine whether access should be granted to the requested content. Securing content through Country Filtering is quite easy. Simply perform the following steps:

  1. Choose the platform on which security will be applied.
  2. Define the directory whose contents will be secured.
  3. Define the set of countries that will be granted or denied access to the above content.

Walkthrough

The first step is to choose the platform on which Country Filtering security will be applied.

Navigate to the Country Filtering page corresponding to the desired platform.

The next step is to create a Country Filtering configuration.

Click Add Country Filter.

A wizard will prompt to define a directory that will be secured. The specified relative path will be compared against the URL that was requested to determine whether it should be secured. The starting point for this comparison varies by origin and URL type. Learn more.

Set the relative path to a forward slash (/). This will apply Country Filtering security to all requests for the current platform.

Directly below the specified relative path, select "Allow" to only allow requests from specific countries. All other requests will be denied.

Click >> Next. A paginated list of countries will be listed.

Click "10" at the bottom of the page. Mark the checkbox next to the United States.

Click Finish.

A summary of the newly created Country Filtering configuration will be displayed. The Country Filtering configuration created in this tutorial only allows requests from the United States. Requests from all other countries will be denied.

Important: If requests from countries other than the United States should be allowed, please delete this configuration by clicking the icon that appears next to it.

Note: It may take up to an hour for changes to take effect.
